The Team

Daniel Barry :: Daniel started his driving career at the age of 16, when he competed in Autocross.  During 2002 & 2003 he became the Irish National Junior Champion, and went on to be the first Junior to win an overall championship.  When it came to starting out in rallying Daniel entered the 2004 Ford Ka Forest Challenge, and in just his first year came 2nd overall!

2005 saw a switch to the Peugeot 206, where Daniel came 2nd overall in the Winter Cup.  Daniel moved to the Mitsubishi Evo in 2006, where he competed in just 3 or 4 events, before tackling the 2007 Evo Challenge in an Evo8 model of the popular rally car.  The result after a long hard year was 5th overall, which was just what was needed to take him into the 2008 series…  It was a close fought battle for the overall championship, but 2008 was not to be Daniel’s year – although he did win the 1st Junior Award.

2009 however was Daniel’s year…  He started the year as he intended to carry on, with wins on the first few events he went on to dominate the remainder of the season and took the coverted UK Evo Challenge Overall Drivers Title with 3 championship rounds still to go!

Martin Brady :: Martin is a well known Irish co-driver with a number of championship wins under his belt.  He’s also the only person to win the UK Evo Challenge on 2 consecutive years during 2008 & 2009.  He started rallying as a spectator as a young boy in 1991, watching the Circuit of Ireland, which had a stage starting outside his front gate!  A certain Mr McRae in his GrpN Sierra, got the young boy hooked on the spectacular sport.

In 1997 Martin went to college and became more involved with marshalling as a member of Donegal MC, then he competed on his first Night Navigation duringthat year.  By the year 2000, he had moved on to Stage Rallying, and his first rally was the Dunlop “Rally of Ireland” in a Ford Sierra.  Martin has crammed in a lot of rallying since then, with the 2010 Rally of Scotland being his 199th Rally!  Although rallying has taken Martin all over the world, including the USA and Mexico, his toughest rally was the 2010 IRC round of Rallye Monte Carlo.

Danny Barry :: Danny is the Team Manager – Once a competitor himself Danny has the “never give up” attitude often required in the world of rallying, as well as a huge passion for the sport!

Donna Harper :: Donna is the Team Coordinator - She has years of experience in the coordinating and travel business and is in charge of making sure the team is in the right place at the right time, which is no mean feat!

Stephen Whitford :: Stephen is a Technician with years of experience running Mitsubishi Cars.  He joined the team in 2009 for the start of the season, after previous success on the Evo Challenge with Philip Morrow.

Martin Brady (2) :: Martin is an experienced technician who joined the team in 2005.  Previously working for Rory Galligan as his no1 technician on the Peugeot before moving to the Evo.  Martin puts a lot of time into the car between events, and has a long history with the Team.

Richard Chambers :: Richard joined the team along with Stephen in early 2009 as a Technician and has a wonderful “keep calm” attitude.  He is an asset to the team and a very likable person.

Eamon Gibney :: Eamon is the teams junior technician.  2010 has been steep learning curve for him, but full of valuble experience.  Also, if you ask nicely he will do a cracking rendition of “Stevie Wonder”!

Donnie Lucey :: Donnie has been involved with the team since Daniel’s Autocross days.  He is well known in the world of Irish motorsport, and is a valuable team member.

Vivienne Barry :: Viv is referred to by the team as “the boss”.  She is always there for us, and always knows just what to feed us at the end of a long day!

Graham Barry :: Also a rally driver in his own right, Graham attends events as the teams Merchandising Manager.  Graham is currently setting up the EvoSpares website for sales of team clothing and Evo Spares (funnily enough!).
